Home Delivered Meal Programs
St.
Joseph’s Mercy Health Center operates two home delivered meal programs, Mercy
Meals on Wheels and Mercy Home Meals.
Mercy Meals on Wheels
Mercy Meals on Wheels service is available to homebound seniors, age
60 and over, who reside within our current service boundaries. To date, over
2.5 million meals have been delivered to over 2,000 of our homebound elderly
friends and neighbors. All meals meet 1/3 of the recommended dietary allowance,
as required by standards of care outlined in the Older Americans Act of 1965.
Funded partially through the Older Americans Act and the Area Agency on Aging
of West Central Arkansas, there is no required cost for the service, although
donations are encouraged. Space is limited.
Mercy Home Meals
Mercy Home
Meals service is available to all Garland County residents regardless of age
or health status. Customers enjoying the service have included post-surgical
patients, those unable or too busy to prepare their own meals, and others. This
service program does not receive federal or state supportive funding. There
is a $5.00 fee per home delivered meal.
