Bladder
control and/or bladder leakage concerns are not a normal part of aging, not
a lack of self control, and not an emotional illness. These are symptons of
a physical, medical problem. Incontinence affects 25 million Americans including
men and women of all ages and walks of life.
There
are two type of bladder problems: 1)Incontinence or bladder leakage which
is the inability to control bladder function resulting in the unintentional
loss of urine and 2)Overactive bladder or bladder urgency/frequency which
is the feeling that you need to urinate more than 6-8 times during the day
and more than 1-2 times at night, with urges that are sudden and strong and
difficult to control.
