Mercy Behavioral Health
Mercy Behavioral Health – located on the first floor of St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center – provides a caring, supportive environment that is specifically designed to meet the mental health needs of those who are 55 years of age and older. Through a structured plan of individual counseling, group therapy, coordinated activities and family support, patients are afforded the opportunity for a renewal of their social, mental and physical skills.
The goal of Mercy Behavioral Health is to help patients return to an independent life as soon as possible. A continuing care plan begins the day of admission and grows throughout the hospitalization in preparation for the patient’s return to his or her community. Family members play a vital role in all phases of the process, from the hospitalization of their loved one to their recovery and continuing care. Through our aftercare plan, the patient’s treatment team develops a plan for life after they leave our facility.
Physician, human service agencies, family and community referrals – as well as self-referrals – are welcome. Assessments may be requested by a referral source and are provided by the professional members of our highly-qualified clinical team. The need for admission is determined by a physician. Medicare and most major health insurance companies cover services for patients admitted to the Mercy Behavioral Health facility.
Mercy Behavioral Health is available 24 hours a day to assist older adults and their families. To learn more about our services, please call 501-622-1291 or toll free at 1-888-764-0321. All calls are handled with the strictest of confidentiality.
