When it comes to
advanced technology, St. Joseph’s commitment is unparalleled in the
Hot Springs area. Always with quality care and the safety of our patients
as the motivators, we as the state’s second oldest hospital remain at
the forefront when it comes to providing our healthcare professionals
with cutting-edge programs and state-of-the-art technologies. After
all, ours is a mission to provide, in an environment of Christian hospitality,
quality health-related services which impact the changing needs of the
communities we serve. Following are some examples of that commitment:
Mercy Meds
is a state-of-the-art medication dispensing system that works to ensure
the right medication is delivered to the right patient. This computer
on wheels program is improving patient safety and quality by positively
transforming the way our medications are delivered.
Our Digital
Cardiac Catheterization Lab enables physicians to conduct minimally
invasive procedures to treat a wide range of clinical problems, including
coronary artery disease. The system’s catheter-based procedures result
in shorter hospital stays, reduced recovery times without the pain of
large incisions and minimal surgery scarring. Furthermore, the system
– also used for diagnostic catheterization, balloon angioplasty and
stenting procedures – enables physicians to capture and view detailed
images of a patient’s coronary structure, thereby facilitating a faster
and more accurate diagnosis and treatment.
The recent opening of the multi-faceted Mercy Imaging Center
marked the end of an intensive, multi-year process to bring Hot Springs
area residents the latest in state-of-the-art imaging technologies.
The Center, located on the first floor of the Medical Office Building,
is a premier medical imaging facility, and there are very few of its
stature in the United States. Included in its complete line of services
is the GE Lightspeed VCT 64-Slice CT Scanner, GE Discovery LS PET/CT
Hybrid Imaging Scanner and Siemens Espree 1.5 Telsa Ultra Short Bore
MRI System. The 64-slice CT scanner offers the latest technology available,
while the PET/CT scanner fuses computerized tomography and positron
emission tomography images together for revolutionary diagnosis and
treatment of many different diseases. Lastly, the open structure of
the Siemens Espree 1.5 Telsa Ultra Short Bore helps to provide a more
comfortable and relaxing MRI scan experience without compromising image
quality.
