Spiritual Care

Times of hospitalization and illness can be very difficult for patients and their families. The interdenominational pastoral team provides prayer, counseling and support for both patients and their loved ones.

Our hospital chapel remains open 24 hours a day and all are welcome to pray, visit or find comfort and solitude in this beautiful place. It is located just off the main lobby of the hospital on the east side. Catholic Mass is offered Sunday through Friday at 11:30 a.m. This service may be viewed on the in house television channel 20. In addition, channel 6 provides images and instrumental music to promote healing and relaxation 24 hours a day.

Prayer rooms are available throughout the hospital. Visitors are encouraged to use these rooms for quiet and personal prayer as needed. Hospital chaplains are available to assist patients and families between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. On-call chaplains will respond to urgent needs after hours. To contact a chaplain, dial the hospital operator and make your request known.

Sr. Liz Koehler, RSM is the Bereavement and Spiritual Services Coordinator in the Pastoral Services Department. She is available to meet your needs if you are grieving the loss of a loved one - family member, co-worker, friend. Her services include: one on one counseling for adults, group support, and planning prayer and memorial services for departments who have a need. She is also here as a support for family members of patients who are anticipating the death of a loved one or to follow up after a death. For more information please call 501-622-4113.
