What is mobile
mammography?
The Mercy Mobile
Mammography Unit is a 42-foot long motor coach that travels to local communities
to provide high quality accredited screening mammograms to women. The unit makes
getting a mammogram more accessible and allows women to obtain a mammogram near
their home instead of having to travel to another city.
What can I expect if I
make an appointment?
It is just like going to
the doctor's office. You will receive the same amount of privacy you would at
your doctor's office, and dedicated professionals are on board to help answer
any questions you may have. The unit is accredited by the State of Arkansas and
the FDA, and qualified radiologists perform all services. Professionals are also
available to demonstrate how to perform monthly breast self-exams.
What is the purpose of
mobile mammography?
Unfortunately, every city
does not have a mammogram facility, and some people are simply not able to
travel to and from these facilities. Mobile mammography allows women to receive
screening mammograms at a location which is near to them, such as where they
work or shop.
How do I make an
appointment?
Contact the Mercy Mobile
Mammography Unit at (501) 622-2206 or online at www.saintjosephs.com
for a schedule of when the unit will be in your area and how to schedule an
appointment.
