St. Joseph’s Mercy Pregnancy Care Clinic to make accommodating move
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – In an effort to better accommodate an ever-increasing volume of patients, St. Joseph’s Mercy Health System has decided to move the Mercy Pregnancy Care Clinic, presently located on the first floor of the Mercy Women’s Center, to a more spacious Suite 303 in the adjacent Medical Office Building.
Founded in 1995 to fill a community need, the Mercy Pregnancy Care Clinic will close on Friday, January 22 to facilitate the move and then reopen at its new location on Monday, January 25.
“Since its founding, we have consistently experienced steady growth in the number of patients we see annually,” said Mercy Women’s Center Operations Manager Marsha Oliver, RN, MNSc. “The additional space we will gain with the move will not only allow us to better accommodate our present patient load, but the increase we expect in the future.
“The move will not only give us additional space, it will grow our number of exam rooms from four to six.”
The Mercy Pregnancy Care Clinic, a collaboration between St. Joseph's Mercy Clinic physicians and St. Joseph's Mercy, provides prenatal and obstetrical care for expectant mothers. The Clinic provides services such as nutritional counseling, the services of a social worker, a financial counselor and a Spanish interpreter. The goal of the Clinic's caring staff is to help ensure every mother has a healthy pregnancy, as well as support and encouragement.
The clinic also offers an incentive program (Pals In Pregnancy) where the patients earn points by attending clinic visits, educational programs and making lifestyle changes. The points may be redeemed for items for their infant such as diapers, clothing and other baby items.
For more information about services offered by the Clinic – open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon – please call (501) 622-1801.
