St. Joseph's contracts with the Senior Specialists to provide and administer the McAuley Center, which is just north of the Hot Springs Village front gate. Open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., it serves individuals age 60 and older. Memberships to the Center are free and visitors are always welcome. The Center offers hot, nutritious lunches daily, as well as the Exercise and Wellness Corner, library, TV room, pool table, ping pong table, games room, craft room and gift shop, socialization, recreation, health-related fairs, health screenings and presentations and special events. McAuley Center activities include the Intergenerational String Orchestra, story telling, Imagination Theater and tutoring for area youth, calligraphy class and a SeniorNet Computer Lab. The 1,000-square-foot Express Care Clinic at McAuley Center, presented the Senior Center Best Practice Award at the 27th annual Arkansas State Aging Conference, provides services for minor ailments, such as colds, coughs, sprains and strains.
